Here is a complete six-round pub quiz you can host without writing questions from scratch. It includes 60 pub trivia questions and a separate answer key covering general knowledge, geography, science and nature, American history, food, and a mixed final round. Give teams one point per correct answer, allow about 60 seconds per question, and use the tie-breakers only when needed.
Updated August 30, 2026. The set avoids current events so it remains useful, but hosts should still review the source notes and accept reasonable spelling variants.

Source notes for the host
For questions that commonly trigger debate, these references provide a quick fact check: NOAA identifies the Pacific as Earth’s largest and deepest ocean basin; NASA explains why Venus is hotter than Mercury; the Library of Congress records the Declaration’s adoption on July 4, 1776; and the National Park Service describes Yellowstone’s establishment in 1872. Keep these links on the host’s device, not on the players’ answer sheet.

How to keep a pub quiz moving
- Read every question twice, then give a 10-second warning.
- Collect answer sheets before revealing answers so teams cannot make late changes.
- State accepted variants before awarding disputed points.
- Alternate categories so no specialist dominates the entire event.
- Use a visible scoreboard, but do not announce the last-place team unless the group enjoys that style of competition.

Frequently asked questions
How long will six rounds take?
Allow roughly 90 minutes, including scoring and two short breaks. A brisk host can finish in 70 to 80 minutes; a social group may need two hours.
Should spelling count?
Accept a recognizable phonetic spelling unless spelling is the point of the question. For names, require enough detail to identify the intended person or place.
Can I shorten this quiz?
Yes. Use the first five questions from each round for a balanced 30-question game, then keep one tie-breaker in reserve.
